Configure Networking

  1. Find out your server's current IP address by logging in to your server and running the command:
    ifconfig

  2. Edit the network interface file:
    sudo joe /etc/network/interfaces

  3. Edit DNS by editing resolv.conf:
    sudo joe /etc/resolv.conf

  4. Restart Networking
    sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
  5. You should now be able to access your server. You can run
    ifconfig

    to confirm the IP has changed.
